Proposition 2 is a wolf in sheeps clothing. Listen to volunteer parents who have done their research, vs. paid politicos who only speak in sound bites. Prop 2 asks among the poorest children in the largest classrooms in the nation to pay for Sacramentos fiscal irresponsibility. We are not raising funds, it is true (we are too busy raising our families and funds for our local schools), but we will continue to speak out against these back room deals that hurt our children and the integrity of Sacramento. Please visit our website (2BadForKids.org), and see if you are one of the 94% of districts that would be forced to shed their savings (all but those that only have a few weeks of cash on hand are affected) and decide if you like the idea of Sacramento managing the very meager funds your community has on hand to educate its children. In case you are especially into the numbers, visit yes4ed.org and see how much of your local property taxes that should be going to your schools are also diverted by another Sacramento shell game that is largely undisclosed. We are so fed up with kids always coming in last - no other state has classrooms as crowded, no other state has fewer librarians and counselors per child. Is it any wonder we are near the top in per prisoner costs? What a short sighted decision to go with Prop 2. NO on Prop 2.
