“Prospero” – BoulogneYC - Homeward bound – White Cliffs of Dover in sight. 25 August 2013 20:31 BST Hi all We are gradually getting closer to Guernsey and the end of our travels. This morning we motored to Boulogne. We got the tide spot on and at one moment had 4 knots running with us.Swell was not too bad, just enough to prevent making coffee again. Visibility was excellent and although we stayed close to the French coast we could just see the white cliffs of Dover for a few minutes. Strong winds and big waves are forecast for tomorrow, so we are right to wait until Tuesday and I have to admit the thought of setting off at 06.30 am tomorrow does not appeal to me at all. We are in the Boulogne Yacht Club marina as it is non tidal and so we do not have to think about lock opening times. We are one of 3 British motor boats in the marina and almost all the others are British yachts. No wonder all the restaurants here print their menus in English! Cheers Wendy and Mick
