Protect California desert and our communities! Attend the Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan (DRECP) meeting in Victorville, California on October 29, 2014! The DRECP is a programmatic plan on where to site utility scale wind, solar and geothermal renewable energy projects throughout 22.5 million acres of California desert. Join National Parks Conservation Association for a pre-meeting strategy session right across the street with light snacks, coffee and tea. Aldo Leopold, father of American conservation, once said, “A thing is right when it tends to preserve the integrity, stability and beauty of the biotic community. It is wrong when it tends otherwise.” Attend the DRECP public meeting and make sure decision makers know you value the protection of the land, ecosystems, species, communities and our tourism based economy. Carpooling is available! RSVP to Seth Shteir ([email protected]) of the National Parks Conservation Association for background information and talking points and copy Peggy Lee Kennedy (peggylee.kennedy@gmail) for carpool information or to reserve a space on our van ($5 gas donation requested).
