Protect your Private Life Allahs Messenger (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: The worst person on the day of Qiyamah will be the one who reveals the private life of his wife to others. [Sahih Muslim] Men and women, some of both, have the habit of revealing their private matters to their friends. This is a major sin which should be abstained from. In another hadith, the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) asked the people, after prayer in his mosque, whether they discussed with others what they did with their spouses. The Muslims were quiet. Then a woman spoke up and admitted to the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) that both men and women did so. The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said that to discuss private matters with others was akin to behaving like dogs that copulate on streets with no regard to onlookers. This hadith is a stern warning to people to give up such habits that they may have acquired, regardless of who taunts them for safeguarding their modesty and the modesty of their family.
