Protecting ourselves and our families is the biggest reason most of us choose to carry a handgun. Along with that choice comes the responsibility of securing your weapon. We have learned of an incident in Idaho where a two year old shot and killed his mother with the handgun she was carrying in her purse. This is a terrible tragedy, but one that can be used as a reminder to be ever vigilant. If you choose to carry in a purse be sure that your children can not get to the weapon inside. I occasionally choose to carry my handgun in my concealed carry purse, and for that reason my purse is ALWAYS off limits to my children.
