Protection through the awful trials that we are facing can only be found in Christ Jesus whereas his sadistic majesty the devil will laugh and try to kill you as you go through them. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Psalm 46:1, 2. This fortitude amidst trials is not the product of trusting God for a moment but over time as we see His trustworthiness our relationship with Him deepens, broadens and widens. As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Colossians 2:6, 7. Who have you turned to in your hour of extremity and what has happened when you have relied upon this source of help? The day is coming when all human support will be completely removed and the only One that we can truly rely upon is God who will never fail nor forsake us. Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Deuteronomy 31:6.
