Protest = Jail People do civil dis-obedience because the system has failed Once you are prepared to make this sacrifice know you will go to jail Do not to be in a hurry to try and get bail If you intend to make a statement incarceration is a tactic governments used to tilt the scale Knowing this that was the strategy onwhich the 2005 movement set sail It was the women in the Union that opened the eyes of the people that the system mi di fail The country is in ail, some supporters must bring ginger alel Never be afraid to fight for your rights and go to jail Before you get involved put your options on the scale Forty four people locked up for illegal gathering and littering That was the song that Broaster was singing Forty four more need to be willing If we are to send a strong message to Independence hill Their tactic for arresting you all was to break you will When you go to jail you should chill It happen to Goldson, Shabazz and Even X Going to jail is nothing to get vex Sending in the troops is the only way government muscles flex But the average Belizean seem not to have gotten that yet You are standing up for your rights Brute Force and ignorance is just the way governments fight But in Belize everyone knowing everyone officers in the ranks are in support of your plight Remember what happened in Germany, Italy, Brazil and Thailand When the police put down their guns and joined the happy band You can look on Youtube to see this one If you want to understand If the numbers swell significantly officers will change side and join our fight But the key to the struggle is that we all unite Unity of action and putting the desired outcome in sight Civil disobedience is a basic human right People with camera phones need to take pictures and post on the internet This government is not ready for technology yet Imagine ROC got the PM di fret Don’t make the political parties jump on your train trek Cause when they get into power they will do the same thing next They are only capitalizing on the people’s energies They are not genuine just seeking opportunities. The struggle is real but we must be prepared to make sacrifices There is never enough jails to hold the masses. Parents when you go to protests take you children Youll never know when they will have to follow the same trend Let them know from now that you are fighting for them By: Abdulmajeed K Nunez.
