Protest March JAMA MASJID (S.S Hall) to BAB-E-SYED after NAMAZ-E-JUMA (28/11/2014) Save S.S Day, Save AMU The entire Alig fraternity is shocked and saddened with the unexpected meeting of AMU Vice-Chancellor and AMU Students’ Union office bearers with local RSS leaders in the Vice-Chancellor’s Lodge on the evening of November 25, 2014. The Vice-Chancellor Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Zameer Uddin Shah announced that the celebration of Raja Mahendra Pratap’s birthday will be held on December 01, 2014 in the City High School, AMU in the presence of the leaders of BJP and RSS. AMU Vice-Chancellor has consented to represent the university in the function of the fascist organization which shows his utter desire to become the Governor in the regime of PM Narendra Modi. We, students of Aligarh Muslim University, strongly condemn this heinous act of AMU VC and AMUSU office bearers to have a secret meeting with the members of RSS and ABVP within the University premises. As the news published in various Hindi & English dailies on November 26, 2014, the students of the varsity kept speechless as how the elected representatives of Students’ Community and the head of this great seat of learning spared time with the communal wings of the country who do always invest its energy to demolish and spoil the life and liberty of the minority community of the country! We, the Aligs, are ashamed of this act as we never witnessed such a low level intentions of the VC and Students’ Union which brought disrepute to the varsity! Therefore, we are bound to organize a protest march in order to deplore the devastating efforts of the Vice-Chancellor as well as AMUSU office bearers and hereby demand as follows: 1.The Vice-Chancellor and AMU Students’ Union office bearers should apologize in public for having a secret meeting in Vice-Chancellor’s Lodge with the members of Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh(RSS) & Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in respect to organizing Raja Mahendra Pratap’s Birthday Celebration at AMU 2.We, students of Aligarh Muslim University, strongly oppose any Birthday or any such celebrations except Sir Syed Day as it has been the tradition of the varsity since decades to Celebrate Founder’s Day (Sir Syed Day). 3.We, students of Aligarh Muslim University, will collectively wage a non-violent agitation against the Vice-Chancellor and AMU Students’ Union and they will not be allowed to enter from Bab-e-Syed if they go to participate or allow to organize Raja Mahendra Pratap’s birth day celebrations by RSS and BJP. 4.The Members of AMU Court and some Cabinet Members of AMUSU also oppose the declaration-proclamation of AMU V-C and AMUSU Chairpersons to celebrate Raja Mahendra Pratap’s birth day celebration associating with RSS and ABVP We, the Students of AMU, also want to let you know that the university is known for its secular character as the first graduated of the varsity was Ishwari Prasad and the quote of the founder can never be denied “Hindus and Muslims are the two eyes of a beautiful bride…” Students of Aligarh Muslim University
