Protest against Imran Khan in Peshawar, Who & Why? - After - TopicsExpress

Protest against Imran Khan in Peshawar, Who & Why? - After carefully looking at all aspects, including footage and talking to people on ground, this appears to be orchestrated by some third hand (not PMLN). Purpose is now to discredit Imran Khan as a front line politician and to bring forth his various contradictions. This is a dangerous game, it may backfire for these elements and will definitely create more chaos. We were the first one to point out in our program, Siyasat Hay Ya Sazish that Imran Khans marriage cannot be treated as a personal matter alone and will have political repercussions, his admirers will be on defensive and his opponents will exploit the timing issue. Many PTI supporters were offended when this was discussed on this FB Page, almost a thousand people participated in that debate. However while we took flak in taking a critical view of his marriage it is also important to point out that seldom in the political history of Pakistan a more simple marriage ceremony was seen and both Imran and Reham did generate positive optics while taking food with madrassa students. Anyway politics is politics and has always been a dirty game. Pakistani politics is in addition a high stake survival game and that is why Prime Ministers or Minister unlike more developed countries dont resign here. Because in most developed countries, political positions are not life and death battles. Yes! parents of APS are a genuinely hurt group. They have all the reasons to burst out against the system and politicians. However as it happens in politics, hurt feelings and aggrieved groups are exploited for political ends. It is important to point out that ARMY Public School Peshawar exists in Cantonment area, City Administrations are not allowed to meddle inside the Cantonment areas; security is solely responsibility of Military and since prior warnings from Federal Agencies existed it is surprising that so far Army has not held any senior officer accountable. At least not to public knowledge. One also notices with interest that when Military Chief visited the School there were no angry parents outside to protest that Military authorities have failed to protect their children in a school in their sole jurisdiction. In view of these circumstances it is interesting to note that some elements are trying to pin blame on Imran Khan who was in no position to provide protection to the School and almost all matters and decisions regarding war against terrorism fall outside his hands. So without pointing out the Elements who have initiated this campaign to put blame on Khan, it is our responsibility in public interest to point out that sometimes smart games backfire - especially when you are dealing with middle class intelligentsia that can do dot connecting. Our request to these elements will be, Dont play games, that are so obvious and will backfire and will increase national chaos - Anyway since we in Pakistan have a poor history of listening to sane advice, we expect this trend of throwing mud on Imran Khan to continue. Purpose is to discredit him and to cut him to size for a larger game that is unfolding. (Since Nawaz Sharif has already been discredited and thrown on fence) Nawaz Sharif and his teams blunder is that instead of compromising with their opposition, which would have strengthened and deepened democracy they are ready to surrender elsewhere thinking that this will give them longevity. They are continuously doing this mistake. The foot dragging on NA-122 is a classic example of this mentality. When it is said that let democracy work, it will automatically usher in good governance what it means is that you let the process of inquiry, transparency and judicial investigations continue. The diligent work of Judge Ghulam Hussain in documenting the facts & irregularities of NA-122 Elections is a milestone in Pakistani political history and can strengthen democracy. Unfortunately PMLN govt is trying to frighten the Election Tribunal by taking strong, unwise and incorrect misleading positions on the issue. They are only weakening democracy without understanding. More later.
