Protests, funeral in absentia across Kashmir tomorrow Gilani, Malik, Shah & others remain under house arrest In occupied Kashmir, protest demonstrations and funerals in absentia of the two Kashmiri young boys, martyred by Indian troops in Bandipore district will be held across the occupied territory after Friday prayers, tomorrow. Call for the protests and funeral prayers has been given by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani. The youth, Irfan Ahmad Ganai and Tariq Ahmad were martyred by the troops in Sumbal area of the district on the 30th of last month. The veteran leader in a statement said that the Indian police had arrested the lone witness to the killings of the youth and was being forced to change his statement. The witness, Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh had told the locals of the area that he as a driver accompanied the troops who killed the youth. The authorities continued to place Hurriyet leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Mohammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan and Zafar Akbar Butt under house arrest to prevent them from addressing public gatherings in Bandipore and Pulwama districts. Hurriyet delegations comprising Muhammad Musaddiq Aadil, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Javed Ahmad Mir, Aasiya Andrabi, Yasmeen Raja, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Hakeem Abdur Rasheed and human rights activist, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo paid visits to the families of the three martyred youth in different areas of Tral. The youth were martyred by the Indian troops in the area on Monday. The leaders on the occasion vowed that India would never succeed in suppressing the Kashmiris’ liberation struggle through brute use of force. Meanwhile, another delegation comprising Amir Hamza, Abdul Ahad Parah and JKLF leader Bashir Ahmad Butt surmounting hurdles created by the authorities, managed to visit the bereaved families in Markandal and Kondabal areas of Sumbal.
