Protips-August 27,2013 Contentment vs. Complacency By Maloi Malibiran-Salumbides Kuntento ka ba sa iyong trabaho? Ang sabi ng Greek philosopher na si Epicurus, “Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for.” Parang ganito: Be happy and content that you were able to get in the company where you are working now. Ang sabi sa 1 Timothy 6:6, “Godliness with contentment is great gain.” But there’s a very big difference between being content and being complacent. The Apostle Paul said in Philippians 4:11 that he has learned how to be content with whatever he has. Yet in Philippians 3:14 he also says, “I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.” Kung gusto mong umasenso at maging masaya sa iyong trabaho, be contented, but don’t be complacent. Sa paanong paraan? 1. God’s Word discourages laziness but teaches us to live with contentment. 2. Maging kuntento, pero patuloy na mangarap. Being content does not mean you put a limit to your dreams and goals. I know of someone who really made it big in his professional life working for a multinational company. He saw this as an opportunity to influence others positively and to share his faith with them. Pero kahit kuntento na siya, he made himself available for bigger things that God would have him do. He retired from his high-paying job to go into full-time ministry and help professionalize the creative team in their church. Maging kuntento pero patuloy na kumikilos. Maging kuntento at patuloy na nangangarap. Higit sa lahat, maging kuntento at patuloy na lumago. BE A BLESSING IN THE WORKPLACE TODAY!
