Proud to have stood alongside Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on July 2, 1964, as President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act into law. Heres a photo of the signing (can you spot me?), and a page from LBJs White House diary noting those present at the event. This remains one of my proudest moments in Congress, and Im truly blessed to be here and see the many ways people have continued the spirit of Dr. Kings service in all they do today. #MLKDay2015
