You can go to Church every week and sing the songs and listen to the message, believing you are a good Christian and you are going to heaven. You can be deceived by thinking that God and His word does not matter to you. No one has ever told you that repentance is not an option. You find time to for all kinds of things and reading the bible is not important to you. Lord Jesus said this: Luke 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. And He said this as well: Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Acts 17:20 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Evangelical repentance consists of (1) a true sense of ones own guilt and sinfulness; (2) an apprehension of Gods mercy in Christ; (3) an actual hatred of sin (Ps. 119:128; Job 42:5, 6; 2 Cor. 7:10) and turning from it to God; and (4) a persistent endeavour after a holy life in a walking with God in the way of his commandments. The true penitent is conscious of guilt (Ps. 51:4, 9), of pollution (51:5, 7, 10), and of helplessness (51:11; 109:21, 22). Thus he apprehends himself to be just what God has always seen him to be and declares him to be. But repentance comprehends not only such a sense of sin, but also an apprehension of mercy, without which there can be no true repentance (Ps. 51:1; 130:4). If you say you are not a bad person and you dont need to repent, then you are deceiving yourself because the bible says: Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Lord Jesus said he came to save sinners. If you dont know you have broken Gods commandments continually, then you are not saved. If you are troubled by this then there is still hope for you.
