Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in a persons heart, but it is the LORDs purpose that prevails. God wants us to stop and seriously consider the potential consequences of all the decisions we make. None of our plans/desires must disrupt or alter the course of GOD’s will flowing continually in our lives. When faced with having to make a decision we need to ask ourselves a simple question: “if i make this decision, how will it affect my ministry opportunities, my relationship with GOD, my family and my future? Regardless of which one of these areas in our lives we are asking the question for, it will always be the LORD’s purpose that will prevail, not our own. We should never leave GOD out of the equation when it comes to making decisions that are going to affect us and those around us. We must do the best we can to keep from learning lessons the hard way. Sometimes we might want things our way and find ourselves in situations that are heart breaking in the natural. I know that if i were a parent I would only want what is best for my child, in the same way, GOD wants nothing but the best for us. Let us learn from David. His decision to stay at home instead of going out to battle became a devastating one. The consequences of that one decision spiralled out of control to nearly costing him everything! Thank God that our purpose does not prevail. Our desires will not always be what God’s purpose is for us. Thankfully, our Lord knows best for all. Thankfully – “IT IS THE LORD’S PURPOSE THAT PREVAILS”.
