Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when - TopicsExpress

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. There are two interpretation to this verse. Train a child in the way he should go based on what the parents or the government thinks or to train a child in the way he naturally has shown he should go. There are hidden talent in everyone of us. There is value in education definitely but what if that education has grown to a point or the demands of society and/or the system has encroached the natural aspiration of the person so much so even when he has talents, he is shown not to have talents because the government says he doesnt have talent and needed foreigners to fill it up based on economic needs rather than natural talents? That is the question we have been asking of our education system for the longest time. Does hitting all the hard core subject, pushing everyone going into IT, engineering or business means that everyone has a better life? Or is there a way to actually explore the full extent of a citizens talent so that he or she can really earn it with the skills/knowledge that they are good at? What if we have a Singaporean Titus like the 2 year in the video but he has the unfortunate fate to be born on this island that dumbs down everything unless it is a hardcore subject? I can only say that Titus is at the right place to the do right thing. Hope to see this kid showing off his skills in NBA in 20 years time.
