Proverbs 27:23 Know well the condition of your flocks, And pay attention to your herds; NASB Sometimes we prefer to have everything spelled out for us. In this Proverb it is assumed that we can fill in the blanks. The shepherd needs to be very aware of the condition of his sheep. A rancher needs to be very aware of the condition of his cattle. In any business in which we are involved we need to pay very close attention to every detail concerning that business, or job. We need to know the condition of the equipment we use. We need to be aware of the trends of the market. We need to know what affect current events will have on what we do so that we can make good business decisions. In order to be successful in our activities we need to be aware of every consequence for every action and event as it pertains to what we do. Proverbs 22:29 Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before obscure men. 1 Thessalonians 4:11 and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life and attend to your own business and work with your hands, just as we commanded you; 12 so that you may behave properly toward outsiders and not be in any need.
