Proverbs 31:9. Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and the plead the cause of the poor and the needy. Thought for the Day: The Godly Cannot Remain Quiet Reflection for the Day: The Cause Of The Needy Must Be Heard The author of this portion of scripture, perhaps Solomon, shares the instruction that he received from his mother. It was his responsibility to open his mouth on behalf of the poor and the needy. In the same spirit, every child of God cannot remain quiet; they must open their mouths and plead the cause of those that cannot cry for themselves. We live in a time of much poverty, which is most times ignored or at best poorly served. Who is responsible that the cause of the needy and poor does not go unnoticed? Surely our government should be concerned, but when that does not occur, it falls upon the righteous. The Godly cannot remain quiet, they must open their mouths and insist that all would be judged righteously.
