Provide relief to earthquake affected people of Ramban district: PDP SRINAGAR, MAY 30: Expressing concern over casual approach being adopted by the state government to provide compensation and relief to the earthquake affected areas of erstwhile Doda district, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today regretted that no survey, so far, has been conducted in hilly areas of Ramban district which also suffered huge loss due to tremors. In a statement issued here today, spokesman of PDP Naeem Akthar pointed out that Kastigarh and other hilly areas of Ramban district also suffered extensive damage due to May 1 tremor. “Almost a month has been passed after the devastating earthquake rocked this belt but it is very unfortunate that the state government has failed to send teams to assess losses”, he regretted and added that neither ration nor relief has been, so far, sanctioned for the inhabitants of the hilly areas of Ramban district. “Woes of inhabitants of this belt have been increasing with every passing day but the authorities seem to be unconcerned”, he regretted. Coming down heavily on State Government for its failure to accelerate the process of providing relief and compensation to the earthquake affected families of Chenab Valley, Mr Naeem Akthar regretted that government has so far failed to assess total losses in this region. “Except issue statements and conducting photo sessions nothing has been done on the part of the government to minimize miseries of the people”, he said.
