Providing healthcare for a workforce that provides our food supply, builds our homes and works in our service/hospitality industry is a basic human right. Whether our County Board will take advantage of this bill is yet to be seen. Ironically, to not use this money will force people into more expensive emergency care which will further increase waiting times for all emergency rooms. A County Supv recently rationalized his decision to do nothing by saying this issue requires deep economic, humanitarian and policy considerations. No Supervisor, this issue requires that you do your job and provide healthcare for an important part of our local workforce.
