Minimum Requirements... Requirements: • Grade 12 (Senior Certificate) or equivalent qualification - NQF 4; Job Specification... Experience: • Grade 1: No experience required; • Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years appropriate experience in Child and Youth Care Work after having obtained the required qualification. Key performance areas: • Receive children and youth to the care facility after admission; • Provide young people with basic needs including clean clothes and linen; • Ensure that children/ youth receive medical services; • Assist with the implementation of planned activities, developmental and therapeutic programmes; • Engage in basic life space work to promote the development and care of children and youth; • Perform administrative work relevant to the job. Competencies: • Knowledge of the following: o Developmental programmes; o Clerical/Administrative procedures; o Rules and procedures of a care centre; • Good communication (written and verbal) skills; • Planning and organizing skills; • Professional ethics; • Have the ability to work with children in conflict with the law.
