Proving that you cant please all the people all the time - and then some - is this extraordinary diatribe from one Sam Dean of Middlewich who....er....doesnt really like the idea of a Town Crier. Doesnt really like much, actually. Who agrees with her? By the way, shes got a bee in her bonnet about me having something to do with the Masons. Im not a Mason, never have been, and dont know what (if anything) goes on at the Masonic Lodge. I also didnt try to start a folk radio station in the 90s. We talked about the possibility of a Community Station, which has now come to fruition in the form of The Cat in Nantwich, so that may be where that paricular bone of contention comes from. But is she right? Have we all been getting it so wrong for all these years? You...um...people harp on about the Keep Middlewich Miserable Brigade. But let me make this very clear: you force bland, tacky folk music down locals earlobes (and dont give me the this is nothing to do with me line, Mr. Dave - I tried to further depress Middlewich with a folk radio station back in the 90s -Roberts). You and your poetry reading, pie scoffing, penny whistle tooting, train spotting, random boring local fact regurgitating, bell swinging, becardiganed, beardcrumb cronies are so out of step with the vast majority of residents of this town, that you *do indeed* keep MIddlewich thoroughly miserable with your antics. Im sorry but adding a town crier to this sorry mess is only going to make matters worse. And...people of Middlewich...take a look at our new proposed town crier, have a real close look... (???) And do tell us, Mr Roberts...what really does happen at the Masonic Hall?
