ABOUT GOOD FOOD DAY: National Food Day inspires Americans to change their diets and our food system, so that all people have access to food that is healthy, affordable and grown in a sustainable, fair and humane way. Every October, thousands of events all around the country, featuring some of the country’s most prominent food activists, bring communities together to celebrate and enjoy real food and to push for improved food policies. This year, the LA Food Policy Council and friends invite you to an exciting Food Day celebration at LA City Hall on Tuesday October 21st. LAs Good Food movement has grown immensely these past several years, touching on a wide range of issues from equitable food access, hunger, urban farming, street food, farmers markets for all, good food procurement policy, composting and justice for food workers. Thats why our theme this year is Collective Impact! Together, we represent a strong constituency of Good Food change makers. Through our collective efforts, we are making LA a Good Food City for all Angelenos - where food is healthy, affordable, sustainable and fair. We are also honoring Good Food Champions making a difference in neighborhoods across the City of LA, and there will be some EXCITING food policy announcements! Dont miss it! JOIN US! * Please note: National Food Day falls on October 24, however organizations are encouraged to host events throughout the week. Feel free to let us know about your Food Day event!
