Psalm 118:12 They compassed me about like bees: they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them. Our Lord Jesus, by His death, purchased a right to reign in our entire being. His death and resurrection accomplished the sanctification of our spirit, soul and body. The newborn nature which God has given to the believer must assert the rights of the Lord Jesus Christ. Since you are a child of God, you must conquer each part of self that is not submitted to Christ. Never be satisfied until Jesus becomes Lord over all and reigns supreme in your heart. Sin has no right to any part of us. Therefore, we fight a good and lawful battle when we seek, in the name of Jesus, to drive it out. My body is a member of Christ. I must not tolerate any subjection to the prince of darkness. Christ suffered for my sins and redeemed me with His precious blood. Should I permit my memory to become a storehouse of evil or my passions to be full of iniquity? Shall I surrender my judgment to be perverted by error or my will to be bound in the chains of sin? No, I belong to Christ and sin has no right to me. Do not be discouraged into thinking that your spiritual enemies could never be destroyed. You are not able to overcome them in your own strength, but you can and will overcome them through the blood of the Lamb. Go to God for strength, and wait humbly upon Him. He will surely come to your rescue, and you will sing of victory through His grace.
