Psalm 126:1-6: When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, we - TopicsExpress

Psalm 126:1-6: When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then it was said among the nations, ‘The LORD has done great things for them.’ The LORD has done great things for us, and we rejoiced. Restore our fortunes, O LORD, like the watercourses in the Negeb. May those who sow in tears reap with shouts of joy. Those who go out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, carrying their sheaves. What I take from this passage reminds me of CityReach in a sense. When the Lord was said to restore the fortunes of Zion, everyone became happy and at peace and all was well. This was like how when we as a youth group restored the fortunes of wonderful people at CityReach. The effect was instantaneous, since the happiness and gratitude being expressed brought humor and smiles to the whole situation. The verses also ask the Lord to bring such joys elsewhere, throughout the whole world. Everyone who has witnessed more negatives in life than others deserve to be happy. The homeless people I worked with all deserved a chance to smile and laugh. Prayer: May The Lord allow us all to have such joy, and spread that happiness to those who need it so that the world may be a better place. Amen. Sarah W
