Psalm 144:3 O LORD, what are human beings that You should notice them, mere mortals that You should think about them? Job 15:14 Can any mortal be pure? Can anyone born of a woman be just? Psalm 14:3 But no, all have turned away; all have become corrupt. No one does good, not a single one! Psalm 51:5 For I was born a sinner—yes, from the moment my mother conceived me. Proverbs 20:9 Who can say, I have cleansed my heart; I am pure and free from sin? Ecclesiastes 7:20 Not a single person on earth is always good and never sins. Ecclesiastes 7:29 But I did find this: God created people to be virtuous, but they have each turned to follow their own downward path. John 3:3 Jesus replied, I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God. John 3:4 What do You mean? exclaimed Nicodemus. How can an old man go back into his mothers womb and be born again? John 3:5 Jesus replied, I assure you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. John 3:6 Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life. John 3:7 So dont be surprised when I say, You must be born again. John 3:8 The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but cant tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you cant explain how people are born of the Spirit. Romans 7:18 And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I cant. Galatians 3:22 But the Scriptures declare that we are all prisoners of sin, so we receive Gods promise of freedom only by believing in Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:1 Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. Ephesians 2:2 You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. Ephesians 2:3 All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to Gods anger, just like everyone else. Ephesians 2:4 But God is so rich in mercy, and He loved us so much, Ephesians 2:5 that even though we were dead because of our sins, He gave us life when He raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by Gods grace that you have been saved!) “Christians do not practically remember that while we are saved by grace, altogether by grace, so that in the matter of salvation works are altogether excluded; yet that so far as the rewards of grace are concerned, in the world to come, there is an intimate connection between the life of the Christian here and the enjoyment and the glory in the day of Christs appearing.” - George Mueller - “We could not take one step in the pursuit of holiness if God in His grace had not first delivered us from the dominion of sin and brought us into union with His risen Son. Salvation is by grace and sanctification is by grace. We are brought into Gods Kingdom by grace; we are sanctified by grace; we receive both temporal and spiritual blessings by grace; we are motivated to obedience by grace; we are called to serve and, finally, we are glorified by grace. The entire Christian life is lived under the reign of Gods grace.” - Jerry Bridges -
