Psalm 23 Because the LORD is my Shepherd, to feed guide and shield me, I shall not lack. HE causes me to rest in fresh, tender, green pastures, and HE carefully leads me to still calm waters, to drink freely of HIM. HE refreshes and restores my life--my very self. HE leads me in the path of right standing with HIM--not because I earned it, but for the honor and integrity of HIS Name. Yes, even when I walk through the deep, sunless valley of anxiety, depression and rejection, I will choose not to dread any evil or lack, because YOU, LORD, are with me. YOU comfort me perfectly through YOUR rod that protects, and YOUR staff that guides. YOU generously prepare YOUR covenant table for me, laden with all that I need; and YOU set it in the very presence of those who want to destroy me. Because I am YOUR daughter, YOU announce my royal position in YOUR family by anointing my head with oil. The brimming cup of my life runs over with YOUR provision. Surely only goodness, mercy and failing love shall guard my back throughout my earthly days because YOUR presence shall be my dwelling place.
