Psalm 24:1 The earth is the LORDs, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it. Do we really believe that everything in the world is the Lords? If this is true there is no separation between sacred and secular. It is all sacred just misused/misapplied/misdirected. The Lord is right now working to redeem the world and all that is in it... How can we help God redeem everything in the world? I was reminded in a conversation yesterday of a sermon I preached on prevenient grace. At the conclusion of the sermon, I showed an acoustic version of Sting performing Every Breath You Take. While not every word in the song translates perfectly into Gods prevenient grace, there is enough of Gods grace in that song to hear that message. Redeeming the things of this world for God. It already belongs to Him! Just in case you wanted to hear the song...
