Psalm 27:1-3 The Lord is my light and my salvation: whom shall I - TopicsExpress

Psalm 27:1-3 The Lord is my light and my salvation: whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?... What does this mean? The psalmist is saying that the absence of God in his life means confusion, chaos, disorder, blindness, evil, lack of direction, futility, etc. Darkness is a symbol of all the above. The Lord being your salvation means that his presence in your life means freedom from every kind of bondage and addictions. Jesus in your life means absolute freedom for who the son sets free is free indeed. But if the light that is you is darkness then how great is that darkness! Matthew 6:23 Whos your light in this world of darkness? Whos your salvation in this world of various bondage and prisons? If Jesus is allowed to be your light and salvation you can boldly declare with the Psalmist, who shall I fear or of whom shall I be afraid? The things youre afraid of or you fear in this life is only a revelation of whom youve made your light and salvation.
