Psalm 34 verse 8 reads... Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. In my spirit recently, I have felt so much goodness of the Lord. This is because I have seen and experienced His goodness in my life, and have seen His mercy and undeservedly favor that He showed me. Hence this verse was laid in my heart about how much goodness the Lord has towards us, whether we deserve it or not. He shows us His grace because He is our God and He loves us. The above passage is in the book of Psalm written by David the King of Israel, one thing that we should understand about David is that He was chosen by God after Saul was rejected to be King of Israel. What makes David to stand out from the rest is that David was a worshiper and always worshiped God, when he was looking after the flock in the wild. During his alone time, He spent that time to give praises unto the Lord, and that is why we find God saying, I have found a man after my own heart. The man desired nothing else but to be closer to me. Which is why we find David later on saying that it is better to be in the courts of the Lord and to inquire in His temple for in the presence of the Lord there is fullness of joy. After Saul was rejected, David is then chosen to be king of Israel and the order of Kingship is shifted, because it was supposed to go to Jonathan, instead it goes then to David who originally was not born of Royalty. The thing here ladies and gentlemen is that if God has chosen you, then He will make you of royalty, you don have to make yourself to be that, but He is the one who makes you of royalty and rewrite your whole story. Here we find him after having gone for some time with the Lord, he comes back and writes, Taste the Lord and see that He is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him. To go with the Lord then brings in an element of food that you eat that nourishes the body and bones. When we read the word of God, we are like someone eating the scroll, and it makes our path to be straight and makes us to be spiritually full. So the tasting of the Lord lies in the fact of us coming and staying with Him, and seeing His good deeds and then we can go back and say, we have tasted or tried the Lord and we can denote that He is good to us. His mercies make us to have food daily, and the love He gives us is priceless from day to day. Then David goes on to say, blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him. My question to you today is where do you take refuge? Where is your hiding place? When storms arise where do you run to? Who do you consult when you have problems and troubles arise in your path? Note this, you will only be blessed if the Lord is your refuge and your hiding place. He is the rock that brings shelter in times of storm. When you go and cry to Him, He never makes fun of your problems. He knows how to cover your mess, and give you a message in the midst of all the adversity that you face on a day to day basis. Learn to cry and lean on Him. When things are bad, He knows the bad from the beginning. He is God who created the earth and heaven out of nothing and spoke life to a meaningless situation. Even when the devil thought he had won, God came back with a plan to redeem and save mankind from the torment of hell. So no matter what hell you face today, know that God redeemed you from it before and He can do it again. Stand boldly and believe in Him, oh yes He is able. We serve an able God, and we know before Him nothing is impossible. He turns around any bad situation in your favor so that you can see how good He is. Just come to Him and taste Him, then I assure you; you will see that He is good, He is the best refuge you can have, believe it or not, you get blessed just by being under His care. What an amazing God He is, I charge you today, let go of all your cares, and trust Him completely, He will come through for you, like He did for me.
