Psalm 37 12 The wicked plot against the righteous and gnash their teeth at them; 13 but the Lord laughs at the wicked, for he knows their day is coming. Sometimes, I must say, I sure wish that day for the wicked would come a bit faster! Then other days, I’m too busy praying myself off the naughty list and praying that day doesn’t come too quickly! I guess we all teeter on that fence at times because none of us are perfect. I am sure I have gotten a laugh or two or three or four….out of God….and not necessarily for the right reasons. I have probably plotted a thing or two along the way, gnashed my teeth at a few people, made a snide remark, gave a little attitude (or a lot of attitude) and stayed headstrong for all the wrong reasons. But it is by God’s grace and mercy, that each of us can stop, ask for forgiveness, and get back in his good graces. Too bad it doesn’t work with others as quickly. We hold grudges, remember all their wrongdoings and never forget those hurts. How sad. We expect forgiveness from others when we are in the wrong, but we are slow to give that forgiveness away without making the other person “pay” a little first. Thank goodness we have an awesome God, who forgives and forgets. He puts our sins as far as the east is from the west. Gone in an instant and we are washed as white as snow. We need to let God laugh at the wicked. We need to let God plot their demise. We need to let God fight the battles. And we need to find rest in His arms. We need to be more Christ like in our thought process. We need to let go of hurts, pains and emotional scars and let God handle the rest. We wouldn’t want others to harp on our failures or our sins, so why should we do that to others. Forgive and forget today. If you can’t speak directly to the person who needs forgiveness – talk to God. Let go of what you hold onto. Release those who hurt you….they have moved on and so should you, but with a clean heart. I recently had an encounter with someone I thought I had forgiven. It surprised me to have those emotions rise up again and it disappointed me as well. Sometimes we have to forgive over and over until our hearts and our minds are on the same page. So, today, look inside your heart and let go of those feelings you hold deep inside. Those people who have hurt you have probably moved on….and so should you. Let God do the laughing and let him work on their hearts as well as your own. Love your neighbor as you love yourself and walk as God would call you to walk. Lord, thank you for all you are. I thank you for having a heaven and eternity for us to sing your praises. May we always seek your kingdom first and rest in your peace. In Jesus’ name we pray! Amen! Amen! Kelly OneMinuteMinistry.net
