Psalm 40:2-4 “He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud - TopicsExpress

Psalm 40:2-4 “He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.” This is such an amazing example to us! Singing songs of praise to honour God while under an onslaught of trials and temptations from the enemy! David was in the miry pit, the pit of despair, either through sinning or being attacked by the enemy. He humbled himself before the Lord and waited patiently on Him. And he wasn’t disappointed. God answered him and placed his feet on a rock. Paul says that the flesh is struggling against the Spirit in him. Being a believer means that one is in constant daily conflict. We still find a threat in the flesh as well as in seemingly unsurmountable challenges in everyday life. But there is total victory in the Spirit. It does not matter in what situation your find yourself or what the challenge is, the same God who placed David’s feet on the rock is there for you too. Refrain from only concentrating on your problem and trembling and shuddering because of it. Expect deliverance from our Lord. Serve Him, praise His name, give Him honour and glory for He has done for us and He will place your feet on the rock. Praise Him so that others will hear this too. Trust in the Lord. The best witnessing is through one was ploughed under but stood up through faith in the Rock of our salvation and received mercy from above.
