(Psalm 9:1-20) "He rules the world with righteousness and judges - TopicsExpress

(Psalm 9:1-20) "He rules the world with righteousness and judges with equity" (Ps. 9:8). Human justice is a necessary foundation for civil societies; without the rules of law anarchy reigns. Yet we also know human justice is flawed, mistakes are made: the innocent get punished and the guilty go free. "The Innocent Project," formed in 1992 uses DNA testing to re-examine evidence against people cdonvicted and imprisioned for crimes. Their work has exonerarted 292 people. Human justice is still challanged by God`s word to Israel, "Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to the poor or fgavoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairley" (Leviticus 19:15). God is the final arbiter of justice. King David prayed, "Arise, Lord, do not let mortals triumph; let the nations be judged in your presence" (Psalm 9:19). God alone is fully holy, he knows all things even thoughts and intentions of our hearts, and nothing is hidden from His gaze. God is the ultimate arbiter of justice. "Let all creations rejoice before the Lord, for he comes, her comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in rightousness and the people in faithfulness" (psalm 96:13). (paraphrased, Duane Brush, 7/21/13). I would not be living up to what I post if I did not admit to having sinned in the last couple of days. I have asked God to forgive me, and am also asking all who see this to forgive me. It is not a sin that would hurt anyone, but is still a sin. I do not believe the statement "we sin dailey in word, thought, and deed." I believe that when we sin "we fall short of the glory of God," and must ask forgivness. As I near the compleation of a project or task, I feel a let down instead of accomplishment and I believe that this leaves me open to the testing of the devil, thus I am more veaurnable to sin. Praise God from whom all blessings fall.
