Psalm 97:10 Ye that love the Lord, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked. We are commanded to love our enemies, and also commanded to hate evil. I am guilty of failure in this area. I have been duped by the façade of tolerance and tricked into living a “status quo” lifestyle when it comes to responding to evil. Proverbs 6:16-19 tells us what the Lord hates, “There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.” Lord Jesus, please give us hearts of compassion for the victims of wickedness and evil all over the world. Install urgency and passion for us that we might engage wickedness armed with the gospel. Lead us in truly living, unashamed to take a stand for Christ.
