Psalm of the Day for October 23 - Psalm 117 Todays psalm is one - TopicsExpress

Psalm of the Day for October 23 - Psalm 117 Todays psalm is one of the shortest, but it is pure praise - an invitation for the whole world to praise God for His love and faithfulness to us. The musical selection was composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and uses this psalm text, albeit in Latin. If you were to read this psalm in Hebrew, however, you would find that the phrase, Praise the Lord, is Hallelu Yah. It is from this that we get the modern Hallelujah or the Latin version, Alleluia. Thus, when you say, Hallelujah!, you are really saying, Praise the Lord! May today be filled with many Hallelujahs! ____________________________________ Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord.
