Psalm of the Day for October 26 - Psalm 100 Todays psalm is just pure praise. Many composers have found inspiration in its words and composed beautiful anthems of praise to God. If you have a favorite, please share it in the comments! Todays musical selection is an arrangement of a hymn that appears in many hymnals, including the Seventh-day Adventist Hymnal (it is number 16, in case you were wondering. You can read the words here: sdahymnal.net/2012/12/sda-hymnal-16-all-people-that-on-earth.html). And, if you notice the title of the video, it says that this is Old 100th. This hymn-tune, which we more often hear associated with the Doxology, is named Old Hundredth. However, you may now be able to guess why it is named so, since it often appeared with a version of the text of Psalm 100. As Paul Harvey would say, Now you know the rest of the story. ____________________________________ Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
