Psalms 107:1-2, 22 How can we show the Lord that were truly thankful to Him? How can we demonstrate our gratitude to God in a real tangible way, in such a way that we know that the Lord sees and smiles upon us, because God knows that we truly have a grateful heart? Thats the question. The answer is we can show were truly grateful by sacrifices of thanksgiving. Psalms 107 is a great Psalm; it would be a wonderful Psalm for you to read at the table before you have the Thanksgiving meal, because it is a Psalm of thanksgiving, and its just filled with the goodness and the mercy of the Lord. It begins with a theme that continues throughout the Psalm: O, give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good: for His mercy endureth forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy. (Psalms 107:1-2) How can we thank the Lord? How can we show our gratitude to the One who has done so much for us? Let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. (Romans 12:1) What does God want today? God wants our heart; God wants the sacrifice of our self. What kind of sacrifice is it that were to give to God? First of all, it is the sacrifice of our person. God says, I beseech ye...that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice. Have you ever given your body to God? Have you ever given your person to God? I know theres been a time in our lives when we did that, when we gave our life to Jesus Christ, when we came to know Him as personal savior. We were really giving our bodies to God. The Bible says, You are not your own; you are bought with a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are Gods. Somehow as we face the trials of life, as we move on in the Christian life, there come those times when gradually, imperceptibly ...
