Psalms 27:7,8, NKJV Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice! Have mercy also upon me, and answer me. When You said, Seek My face, My heart said to You, Your face, Lord, I will seek. Pray the Promises David was in the habit of crying out to the Lord. In this prayer, David simply asked God to hear him when he prayed and to have mercy on him. Dont approach God on the basis of your goodness; approach Him on the basis of His mercy. God does not do things for us because we are good people, He does things for us because of His mercy. David knew the command of God: Seek my face. When David said, Your face, Lord, I will seek, he was praying the promises of God. David believed that if he sought the face of God---that is, sought after God, that God would hear his prayer and be merciful toward him. When trouble comes, instead of turning away from God, turn to God. He is merciful and loves to hear the prayers of His children.
