Psychopathic people live to keep others off-balance. They possess a sick, innate ability to play exhausting mind games with everyone they encounter. They purposely set up their interactions so that all of their colleagues, lovers, and friends never know what to expect. Heres how it usually works: sometimes, they seem so understanding and thoughtful, and you may think its safe to open yourself up to them. They might even reinforce this false sense of security by responding with apparent kindness when you find the courage to confront them about something THEY did! And then, just when you start to believe that maybe youre dealing with a reasonable person, they attack you in the ways that they know will hurt you the most. Perhaps youve made a minor mistake. Or perhaps youve attempted to share your feelings with them. Later, they act as if such hurtful abuse never happened. And you find yourself being flattered all over again... Cutting such disgusting people out of your life forever (No Contact) is the best thing to do, IF that is possible. Sometimes, it isnt. Maybe you have children together with a psychopath. Maybe you work with a disordered person and have not yet found new employment. As long as you recognize the signs of toxic behavior, as long as you do your best to become as emotionally neutral in their presence as you can, as long as you find daily support from people who demonstrate genuine love, and as long as you continuously remind yourself that you are NOT crazy and the problem lies with THEM, NOT with you, you will make it through!!
