Pte Ganessa Singh was a Sikh ANZAC (in the Australia and New Zealand Corps), who participated in at least two campaigns during World War 1. Originally from dist Nawashehar in Punjab, Ganessa Singh initally worked as a hawker and then a store-keeper in Waikerie, South Australia, after which he enlisted with the Australian Imperial Forces in 1916.He was awarded two medals for his services, which weve traced to a private collector in Toronto, Canada....it comes with complete service records. Here then, is the story of Ganessa Singhs medals, and other historical artefacts, being painstakingly collected at the Sikh Heritage Museum of Canada.
