Public Annoucement ================ At last nights EGM (Emergancy General Meeting) Stewart Glendenning was unanimously re-elected as Chairman of Burton Park Wanderers Football Club. Stewart takes up the role with immediate effect and Steve Harding will take on the role of Vice Chariman. Following his appointment Stewart made the following comments: I am very honoured and touched to have been asked by so many people to come back into the role of Chairman at this wonderful Football Club. I would like to publically thank my predecessors Kenny Gordon & Vince Thomas for all of the hard work they put in over the last season. I would also like to thank Sam Gordon for her hard work and dedication to the club over the last 10 years and wish her and her family well. I would also like to thank Mandy Massie for her loyal support and hard work to the club over a very long period of time. I have a fantastic team of directors, coaches and voluteers to work with going forward. The heart of the community of the club has always and will always be the main focus point for myself. We have fabulous volunteers who day in day out go about their business for the sake of the club and I honestly believe that without those people we would not have a club. To run as many teams as we do at Burton Park Wanderers is an acheivement that should be recognised and one that we are all proud of. We continue to strive to teach, train & educate all players of all abilities and of any gender but without the background team that we have both on and off the field of play it would never be possible and to all of these people I thank them. The social side of the club is equaly as important to me as the footballing side and I will ensure that we get as much support on this as possible. All of our players of all ages are a credit to us and with the support of parents, family and firends we will continue to be a successful club. Our formidable and very successful Quiz Nights will return on the 3rd of October and there will be many other family functions in the coming future. The agreement we have with Kettering Town FC has worked very well for both clubs following its first season last year and we will continue to work with them to ensure that both clubs maintain their own identies as football clubs in their own right. Despite my non involvement with the club over the past few months I have always taken a keen interest in all of the age groups and results. Our ladies had a fantastic season last year and we hope that this will contiune for the forthcoming season. We have a new 1st team management team in place with new challenges ahead for them. I wish Jimmy, Spennie & Jamie every success for the new season and I know that we are in very good hands with them. Once again I would like to thank everyone for the kind support but most of all I would like to thank my wife for supporting me in this new chapter. We have a friendly at home tonight against Newport Pagnell 7:45pm KO we would love to see you there. Good luck to all football clubs for the new season. Kind regards Stewart Glendenning (Chairman Burton Park Wanderers Football Club).
