Public Art Tree Sculpture Project to be unveiled at Waldo Park Community Picnic on Sat, June 22. Waldo Park Picnic and Tree Sculpture Celebration Saturday, June 22 5:30-7:30pm (Waldo Park can be accessed at the end of Teel or Amsden Streets off Mass Ave in East Arlington) Join the Waldo Park neighborhood at the annual Community Picnic as we celebrate the transformation of a tree that lost its limbs in a storm into a work of art featuring local wildlife using wood, stone, aluminum and other materials. 5:30pm - Gather and eat 6:00pm - Live music by the The Hardy Boys 6:30pm - Unveiling of Waldo Park Tree Sculpture Bring a picnic dinner and blanket or chairs. All are warmly invited to what should be a really fun event! (Rain date is this Sunday evening, June 23rd, beginning at 5:30 p.m.) This a project of the Friends of Waldo Park in cooperation with Arlington Public Art. It is supported part by a grant from the Arlington Cultural Council, a local agency, which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
