Public Beware of Fictitious Invoices The Lake Havasu City - TopicsExpress

Public Beware of Fictitious Invoices The Lake Havasu City Police Department and the Lake Havasu City Fire Department would like to warn the community about a recent scam that has surfaced in nearby communities that has, to date, only been focused on businesses. The scam is designed around a fictitious contractor, RMZ Fire Safety, who sent false invoices to various businesses, primarily in the Las Vegas and Southern California areas, charging the business for a service that has not been provided. The false invoices identify the fictitious charge as being for “Annual State Required Fire Safety Equipment Inspection, Test, and Certification.” Investigators from the Nevada State Fire Marshal Division, of the Nevada Department of Public Safety, have been actively working on identifying individuals associated with this fictitious contractor and wanted to provide nearby jurisdictions warning to avoid becoming a victim to this scam. If anyone has been a victim or has received a fictitious invoice related to this scam are encouraged to contact the Lake Havasu City Police Department. Citizens may also contact Lake Havasu City Fire Department Fire Marshal, Chip Shilosky, at 928-854-0749 if you have any questions or concerns. Public Information Officer: Sergeant Troy Stirling, (928) 855-1171
