Public Consultation on draft Amendments to Electricity Act and Regulations to allow Interconnection of Renewable Energy Systems to the Electric Grid The Executive Council of the Government of Anguilla has approved the release of the draft Electricity Act and Electricity Supply Regulations for public consultation. The purpose of these amendments is to lay the legislative framework that will make it legal to permit renewable energy systems to be interconnected to the national electric grid. The documents can be viewed on the government’s website at gov.ai. The general public is strongly encouraged to review these documents very carefully and provide any and all comments, suggestions and recommendations in writing to Crefton Niles at the Ministry of Infrastructure at email address [email protected]. After about two weeks of public viewing, the Ministry will then hold a series of town-hall style meetings and/or radio programmes for the public to further express their views on the amended legislation. At the end of this period, the Executive Council will then review all comments, suggestions and recommendations and make a decision with respect to the implementation of the legislation.
