Public Service Announcement July 12, 2013 (Iqaluit, Nunavut) The City of Iqaluit would like to remind residents that all dog(s) must be registered with the city of Iqaluit each and every year. As per By-law No. 538, all dogs are required to be registered and have the current dog tag attached to them at all times. The cost for dog registration is $10.00 for spayed or neutered dogs and $25.00 for non-spayed/neutered dogs. If a dog is determined, whether to be on public or private property, to not have a City of Iqaluit dog tag the owner could be subject to a fine of up to $100. Any loose dog(s) picked up which are registered and have a city tag attached can easily be returned by notifying the dog owner(s). Any dogs which are unregistered or do not have the tag attached could cause an increase in fines. Dog tags can be purchased at the office of the Iqaluit Municipal Enforcement located at building 2425.
