Public Service Announcement: Yes, Im still pregnant. Is it driving me crazy? A little, lol. I had a ton of prodromal labor (which is much more common than doctors talk about or that you can find info about), so I thought she would come sooner. But only 5% of babies come on their due date, which is only a guess based on averages anyway. Something like 70% come after. The strict definition of late term babies is after 42 weeks, and even many of those babies dont show signs of being late, probably because their due dates were guessed too early. Many doctors will start to pressure you to induce right after your due date due to concerns of complications. But there are many complications due to inductions or C sections as well. If they frequently monitor you and the baby and find no problems, there shouldnt be so much pressure to induce or so many fears. Nature has been doing this since the dawn of time. I trust nature unless there are signs of distress. So as impatient as I am, I will wait for now. I am not willing to risk the complications to myself or the baby for medical intervention when there are no signs of a problem. I will cooperate with my office and not push it too too far, especially considering Im carrying this baby for someone else. But if I dont go into labor this week, itll be next week before an induction, right around 42 weeks. Hopefully I wont have to keep waiting that long, but Ill update when the time comes, whether its natural or scheduled. #letnaturetakeitscourse
