Public Service Announcement from the Office of Emergency Management: As of 0400 Rt 20 from m.p. 9 water is flowing over the road. The wash at m.p. 11 is not passable at all, there are several large mounds of sand or dirt on the west side of the wash at m.p. 11 which is causing the water to flow north in road. Rt 19 the large wash at m.p. 20 is bank to bank and the flow is extremely rapid and steady. Water is flowing over the road starting from Topawa m.p. 18 turnoff to Baboquavari District office. Wash at m.p. 15 is not passable, I met with several Border Patrol agents and they advised the are moving north of the m.p. 15 due to water levels. Artesia wash in Sells is flowing and the gate has been closed, barrcades were placed on Rt 16 at the curve due water crossing the roadway. Tohono Oodham Nation Executive offices have work for 9/17/2014 with the exception of essential staff. Conditions as of 1800 hours: Indian Oasis Baboquivari School District #40 - School still in session as scheduled. BIA Schools - San Simon School, Tohono Oodham High School, Santa Rosa Bording School, & Santa Rosa Ranch school canceled for 9/17/14 Hasan Prepratory & Leadership School, Sells students and transportation canceled.
