Public Service Announcement time.. Feeling like I need to address a small issue here.. Youve heard me speak about the fake kudos and testimonials that models feel obligated to make to some of the photographers out there with insecurity complexes right? Well now on top of those (already quite annoying) posts, weve got models doing this with photographers who are fairly well known for being creepy scumbag douches. Big problem with this? Ill tell you what the problem is - youre now part of a model-safety problem. Youre helping these idiots lure these models in, and sooner or later its going to result in a crime. Its happened, and itll happen again. Do you really want to walk around with that on your conscience just because you feel that for some free photos, you need to regurgitate the crap that these douchebags want you to say on facebook? 1. A photographers work speaks for itself. Ever hear that a picture is worth a thousand words? Well, adding 150 more wont result in a massive influx in a photographers business. Most of the time, it does nothing - its just not needed. Do you know how many times someones come to me and said I just read someones massive post about you and I want to work with you? None. Not one. On the other hand, nearly all my clients come because they saw an image they loved. 2. Take care of your sisters out there. Its a big world and there are wolves lurking in sheeps clothing. Dont make it easier on them to satisfy their disgusting needs/habits. If they ask you to write a testimonial, make sure its your own words, and limit your review to your own experience. Dont pronounce that theyre amazing. If you feel the need, simply say that they were amazing TO YOU on that occasion. Needed to be said..
