Public meeting held and comments sought on ND Highway 40 improvements in Tioga A Public Input Meeting to discuss proposed improvements for ND Highway 40 from the junction of US Highway 2 to the Railroad Overpass in Tioga was held on August 26 th at Tioga High School. Public comments about the proposed project are being sought and written statements or comments can be mailed in by September 10 th . Proposed improvements for ND Highway 40 in Tioga that were discussed at the meeting include three or five lane alternatives,with both alternatives including 12 foot driving lanes,a center left turn lane and shoulders. All alternatives also require widening of the roadway. Paving options include mine and blend,structural hot bituminous pavement overlay,concrete overlay and concrete reconstruction for the three-lane option. The project is designed to enhance traffic movement as it will provide increased turning movements and capacity with many access locations. Traffic has increased in the last five years and turning lanes,approach alignments, grades and shoulders are part of the project plan to help meet traffic needs. Permanent traffic signals are also part of the proposed project. Construction is slated to begin in 2015. Public comments are still being sought.
