Public service announcement: Anytime you see a mother pass you with children and you find yourself guessing the ages of her kids- be it that they look to be only a year apart each, two years apart and she has 5 of them, or she has a 1 year old and a 10 year old- turn away your judgmental eyes, turn away your eyes full of pity and instead of asking her if she tried to have them so close together, meant to have five, or if her baby was an accident- tell her she is doing a great job or smile at her and tell her how much God has blessed her. We often mean well or are just curious but dont understand how we wound people. For the woman who is just trying to make it through everyday, for the mom who just allows blessings from God to come as He wills, for the mom who spent 8 years trying to conceive while her husband was deployed 3 times- youve got your hands full! was he an accident?? Were you trying? can wound the soul. Children, every one, is a blessing from the Lord- tried for, planned on, hoped for, or a surprise. But those details are personal. What is public is that we moms are *all* doing our best and that God has surely blessed us!
