Public service announcement: If you take your children to regular check ups, remember that the advice you receive from the doctor is just that -- advice. It is not the law. Feel free to take it or leave it, or ask for a second opinion from someone else. You do NOT have to follow it! No matter what. Your doctor works for you, and ideally, you and the doctor have a conversation and come up with a plan together where needed. Your doctor doesnt order you around. S/he isnt magical. S/he has specialized knowledge thats helpful, but is a person with opinions and failings. Therefore, what s/he says is advice. Too many people think they cant question the doctor and have to do whatever they are told. :/
